A national consultation on advance requests and medical assistance in dying (MAID) will:
- discuss advance requests, using international and domestic research, studies and examples
- hear your views on advance requests

- First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples
- Persons with lived experiences
- People residing in Canada
This is a vital opportunity to share your valuable insights. Diverse perspectives will enrich discussions and inform policy development.
In addition to the questionnaire, this national conversation includes:
- discussions with all provinces and territories
- virtual roundtables with a broad range of stakeholders, including Indigenous groups, persons with disabilities and people with lived personal experiences (by invitation only)
Health Canada will publish a report on key findings in Spring 2025.

On the complex topic of advance requests as they relate to MAID, it's important to hear a full range of perspectives.
This national conversation is another step to ensure that the framework for MAID in Canada:
