Consultation - Proposal to designate certain offences of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act and related regulations as contraventions

This consultation ran from June 24, 2024 to August 8, 2024.
Health Canada sought comments from interested parties on regulatory measures under consideration to amend Schedule XIV of the Contraventions Regulations (made under the Contraventions Act), to designate more offences of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act and its regulations as contraventions and increase the amount of the fines for certain contraventions.

The goal of the consultation was to gather comments that will inform the development of the regulatory measures under consideration. This would help Health Canada better support the objectives of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act and tobacco control activities taken to advance Canada's Tobacco Strategy.
