Country eligibility under Canada's Access to Medicines Regime
To be eligible to participate in Canada's Access to Medicines Regime, countries must
- be on one of the schedules listing eligible countries; and
- have little or no capacity to manufacture drugs and medical devices.
The drug or medical device that they wish to import under the Regime must be granted a compulsory licence in Canada and meet Health Canada's regulatory requirements for the review and authorization of drugs and medical devices. Countries that are eligible for the Regime should proceed to Requirements for Importing Countries.
