The chemical substances listed below are from Batch 9 of the Challenge, and have met the criterion of section 64(c) of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999). The tables below compile the proposed risk management actions for health and environment. For the complete wording of these proposed actions, please refer to the risk management approaches listed in the summary of Batch 9 substances and publications. Food and Drugs Act (F&DA) (food) Gather information about the use of methyl eugenol as a flavouring in foods available in Canada. Risk management may be proposed, if necessary.

A targeted survey of the food industry was performed, confirming that use of methyl eugenol as a flavour is negligible in Canada.

No further risk management actions are being considered at this time.
