Approved Products under the GROU Program

Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is pleased to notify Canadian growers that the following products are available for importation under the Grower Requested Own Use (GROU) program. As new products are approved, they will be added to the list below.

Notice to Reader:

  • To obtain an approved GROU container label/directions for use booklet, click the product name below. You will be prompted for your contact information and the requested document will be emailed to you. Please allow at least 48 hours for a response.
  • In accordance with paragraph 38(2)(b) and (c) of the Pest Control Products Regulations, foreign products that are under review in the foreign country where they are registered with respect to health or environmental risks or that contain an active ingredient that is under special review in Canada are not eligible for importation.

Note

  • No other pesticide products are available for importation through this program at this time. All products imported into Canada must be either registered, specifically exempted with a valid GROU Import Certificate, or otherwise authorized under the Pest Control Products Act.
  • Any unauthorized importation will be in violation of the Pest Control Products Act and is subject to the appropriate compliance response.
  • A GROU Import Certificate is required for all importations of GROU approved products.

Selecting new products for consideration under GROU

A grower or group of growers and four not-for-profit Canadian national grower associations may request to nominate appropriate candidate products for the GROU program.

The GROU Nomination Committee, representing the national interest of Canadian producers, assists with the prioritization of GROU product candidates; and monitors and maintains the GROU container management program fee collection.

Equivalency certificate expiration date

Equivalency certificates are issued for each product approved under the GROU program and are valid until December 31st, two calendar years after being issued.
