The incoming volume has increased slightly from the previous quarter becoming the quarter with the highest receipt totals during the past 9 quarters. The completion volume has decreased this quarter though it remains the second highest total in the last 9 quarters, reaching 3,351 submissions, with 86% of them completed within the service standard.

Negative accumulation in the table above indicates periods during which completions exceeded both incoming volumes and the accumulation from the previous quarter(s).

The new Management of PLAs for NHPs policy was published on June 30th, 2014. Preparations for the new service standards, through the internal pilot, have enabled the increase in completions on target.

The Directorate responsible for the Natural Health Products Program is now known as the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD).
