European locations facing a high demand for biometrics collection appointments

Book your biometric collection appointment as soon as you can to avoid processing delays.

Visa application centres (VACs) in some European locations are experiencing a higher than normal demand for biometric collection appointments. If can’t get an appointment at your nearest VAC before the deadline in your biometric instruction letter (BIL), you should book an appointment at another VAC.

We can’t process your application if we don’t have your biometrics.

If you need more time

If you can’t book an appointment by the deadline in your biometric instruction letter, you can ask for an extension using the web form.

When you fill out the web form, make sure you provide details about your situation. For example, if you weren’t able to get an appointment until after the deadline in your biometric instruction letter, tell us the date and location of your appointment.

You don’t need to send more than one web form to ask for more time.
