These free services give you the tools and connections you need to feel supported, find success in your new community, and help make Canada your home.

Eligibility
Permanent residents, refugees and protected persons are eligible for settlement services in Canada.

The following people in Canada (living outside of Quebec) are eligible for newcomer services:
- permanent residents including resettled refugees
- people approved to become permanent residents
- protected persons in Canada
- temporary residents in Canada in certain employment programs, including
- the Atlantic Immigration Program
- the Rural and Northern Immigration Program
- people approved under certain special pathways, including
- Ukrainians and their families
- Palestinians who left Gaza on or after September 1, 2023, and their families

Canada has many organizations and services that help newcomers settle here. Friendly and experienced settlement professionals provide personalized support to guide you and your family as you build a successful life in Canada. Services are available in multiple languages, including French.
Services can include
- English or French language training
- employment services to search for jobs and prepare for the Canadian workplace
- connections with communities to build social networks
- support for foreign credential recognition
- supports (like child care, transportation and translation) to help you access settlement services
