Regulatory stock review plan
This regulatory stock review plan is a public list and description of planned reviews of regulations that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is proposing over the coming years. It is intended to give Canadians, including businesses and Indigenous peoples, and trading partners, greater opportunity to inform the reviews of regulations and to plan for the future.
The stock review plan will be adjusted and updated over time to reflect the Department’s regulatory priorities and changes to the operating environment.

Rationale: The authorities contained within the DSPO have not been comprehensively reviewed since its enactment in 1956.
Narrative: The objective of this initiative is to update authorities to better align them with modern official travel, and to solidify approach to eligibility and issuance that supports strong client service, addresses operational issues, and upholds the strong reputation of Canadian passports aboard.
