Processing International Experience Canada (IEC) applications for applicants from Germany and Japan (Expired)

Summary

The purpose of this Operational Bulletin is to provide information regarding processing International Experience Canada (IEC) applications for applicants from Germany and Japan following the closure of Canada’s visa offices in Berlin and Tokyo.

Background

Effective immediately, the Visa and Immigration Sections of the Canadian Embassies in Berlin and Tokyo are closed to the public. Nonetheless, applicants applying to Canada’s IEC programs with Germany and Japan should continue to submit their applications to the Canadian Embassies in those countries. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will continue to accept the processing fee and make the initial eligibility assessment prior to forwarding eligible applications to the appropriate visa office in Vienna (for Berlin) or Manila (for Tokyo) for final processing.

During the transition period, all efforts will be made to minimize processing delays. We ask that applicants and their representatives avoid contacting regional visa offices during this time. Applicants will be contacted by the new processing mission in due course.
