Functional guidance on Temporary Residents (general visa requirements and students) now modernized
This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by IRCC staff. It is posted on the department’s website as a courtesy to stakeholders.

If you use the manuals and operational bulletins regularly, you will notice that there has been a significant change to the way Temporary Resident guidance now looks. Information on processing students has also been modernized. It is anticipated that there will be a transition period while employees become accustomed to the new format. However, in the long run, finding the right information will be easier and faster and updates will be more efficient.
The transition table will help you find where previous manual content can now be found in the new format.
Please note: forthcoming changes to the international student regulations, coming into force on June 1, 2014, have not yet been included.
