If you use the manuals and operational bulletins regularly, you will notice that there has been a significant change to the way Temporary Foreign Worker guidance now looks. It is anticipated that there will be a transition period while employees become accustomed to the new format. However, in the long run, finding the right information will be easier and faster and updates will be more efficient.

The transition table will help you find where previous manual content can now be found in the new format.

You can also use the section’s table of contents for a listing of all pages by topic.

As part of this update, the following changes have also been made:

  • Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations amended to remove work permit requirement for certain foreign artists entering Canada to perform in bars and restaurants
  • Expanded Guidelines for Officers Assessing Work Permit Applications for Intra-Company Transferees with Specialized Knowledge
  • Work related to a research, educational or training program [R205(c)(i), (i.1) and (i.2]: LMO-exemption code C30 de-commissioned, and C31, C32 and C33 created
