Update to the instructions related to designated learning institutions
Summary
The instructions on how to finalize a study permit application in the Global Case Management System (GCMS) not associated to a designated learning institution (DLI) have been updated.
A generic DLI number was created to support the processing of study permit applications from family members of a foreign national whose study or work permit is approved before the foreign national enters Canada.
The same DLI number is used to finalize applications of study permit holders requiring an extension to complete their current program of study at a non-designated learning institution (students affected by the transitional provisions).
