The Global Case Management System (GCMS) Release 21 was implemented on December 3, 2019. GCMS will now systematically create the acknowledgement of claim correspondence record when a refugee claim is promoted in GCMS. If the claimant is processed the same day, the correspondence record can be ignored; otherwise, it must be printed and given to the claimant.
GCMS will also now systematically provide Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) coverage to claimants once their claim is promoted. Staff no longer need to create an IFHP application in GCMS for these claimants. These changes mean that the instructions below published in July 2019 have been deleted.
Deleted instructions
- Acknowledgements of claim and upfront Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) coverage for refugee claimants
