November 8, 2019
A note has been added to the instructions for citizenship ceremonies to clarify that until the swearing-in of the new federal government:
- Returning MPs can resume holding formal and speaking roles in ceremonies
- Any requests from non-returning MPs to participate in a ceremony should be sent to CIT-OPERATIONS
- Requests from the ridings where elections results are still under review should also be sent to CIT-OPERATIONS
Per existing guidance, any MP wishing to attend a citizenship ceremony as a member of the audience can do so.
