March 31, 2020
An ad hoc amendment has been made to the Instrument of Designation and Delegation (IDD) due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The consolidated document now includes ad hoc changes required to designate powers to IRCC officers further to Orders that have been made (effective March 25, 2020). The Orders are
- Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Prohibition of Entry into Canada from any country other than the United States)
- Minimizing the Risk of Exposure to COVID-19 in Canada Order (Prohibition of Entry into Canada from the United States)
The IDD has been updated by adding the new designation of powers conferred to the Minister upon the Orders’ coming into force on March 25, 2020. More specifically, the update designates the Orders’ new powers to IRCC officers to allow them to reunite family members.
