Our efforts are working. The temporary population has declined significantly and we are reducing pressures on communities, including social services and the cost of rental housing.
Our targets keep new PRs at less than 1% of the population beyond 2027 and will reduce the total number of TRs to less than 5% of Canada's population by the end of 2027.
To strengthen Francophone minority communities, we are aiming to have Francophone immigrants represent 12% of PRs outside Quebec by 2029.
