Global leadership role in protecting and resettling the world's most vulnerable
Target for Refugees and Protected Persons:
49,300 (same for 2026, 2027 and 2028)
This year, we plan to invest approximately $935.7M in settlement services
Refugees have access to resettlement services upon their arrival in Canada. They also receive income support which is meant to cover shelter and basic needs, for up to 12 months from the date of their arrival in Canada or until they become self-sufficient.
All refugees have access to a wide range of settlement supports, including language training, employment services and orientation, which help to build long-term independence and successful integration.
This year, we plan to invest approximately $935.7M in settlement services, delivered by more than 520 organizations outside Quebec, including close to 80 Francophone service providers in Francophone-minority communities.
Our response to humanitarian situations needs to be feasible and in-line with capacity. This year's Levels Plan reduced admission targets as part of our plan to return to sustainable immigration levels.
