ARCHIVED – Notice – International Experience Canada – New e–application System
Ottawa, November 30, 2015 – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is launching a new e-application system for the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. Beginning with the 2016 season, IEC is moving from a “first come, first serve” to a pool invitation model through this new system.
When the 2016 season opens, candidates will be invited to create and submit profile which will be part of a pool of profiles for each IEC partner country or territory and their categories. Eligible candidates will be invited from the pools to apply for a work permit at regular intervals throughout the year, and in line with periods of high demand, as long as space is available for their country and category.
IEC provides foreign youth between the ages of 18 and 35 the opportunity to travel and work temporarily in Canada to fund their trip or to gain a Canadian work experience. IEC is also available for Canadian youth who want to travel and work abroad. Canada has reciprocal agreements and arrangements that facilitate youth mobility with 32 countries and territories. IEC has three streams; Working Holiday, Young Professionals and International Co-operation (Internship).
Interested candidates are encouraged to check the Rounds of Invitation page on the IRCC website to learn when the IEC pools will start accepting profile from each of the 32 partner countries. Once participant numbers are confirmed with partner countries and territories, IRCC will begin inviting eligible candidates from the pools to apply for a work permit through MyCIC.
