How to Get a Police Certificate – Bahrain

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada will send you a letter requesting a police certificate after you send your Application for Permanent Residence. You must bring that letter when you apply for a Police Certificate.

How to get a Police Certificate:

If you are a citizen of Bahrain:

If you live in Bahrain

You must apply in person at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) (see Special notes and considerations for complete address) and bring:

  • The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Good Conduct Certificate
  • Your completed Good Conduct Certificate application form (PS/CID/30) (You can get an application form from the CID)
  • A copy of your ID card/CPR
  • A full set of fingerprints taken by your local police authority
  • 3 photographs (4x5 cm) with white background
  • Applicable fees

If you live outside of Bahrain:

You can:

  1. Return to Bahrain and apply in person OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Bahrain, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) and follow the instructions above.
  2. Visit your nearest Embassy of Bahrain and bring:
    • A copy of your passport
    • A copy of your ID card/CPR
    • 3 photographs (4x5 cm) with white background
    • Applicable fees

Note: You will be given a form to take to the police department for fingerprints

If you are not a citizen of Bahrain:

If you live in Bahrain: (for more than 6 months)

You must apply in person at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) (see Special notes and considerations for complete address) and bring:

  • The letter from the Embassy of Canada requesting the Good Conduct Certificate
  • Your completed Good Conduct Certificate application form (PS/CID/30) (You can get an application form from the CID)
  • A copy of pages 1-4 of your passport
  • A copy of all previous Bahraini resident permits
  • A full set of fingerprints taken by your local police authority
  • 3 photographs (4x5 cm) with white background
  • Applicable fees

If you live outside of Bahrain: (but have lived in Bahrain for more than 6 months)

You can:

  1. Return to Bahrain and apply in person OR ask a representative (a friend, relative or colleague) in Bahrain, with a power of attorney, to apply on your behalf at the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID) and follow the instructions above.
  2. Visit your nearest Embassy of Bahrain and bring:
    • A copy of the passport that you used in Bahrain
    • A copy of your old or expired resident visa for Bahrain
    • A copy of your current passport
    • A copy of your current valid residence permit
    • 3 photographs (4x5 cm) with white background
    • Applicable fees

Note: You will be given a form to take to the police department for fingerprints.
