How to get a police certificate – Cambodia
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
If you live in Cambodia
Apply at the Ministry of Justice (see Contact information for complete address).
If you live outside of Cambodia
You can authorize someone to apply for the Police Certificate on your behalf.
Fill out an authorization form (a sample of the form is available at the Criminal Office at the Ministry of Justice). The completed form can be submitted at the Criminal Office.

- Valid passport and visa
- Home and work addresses
- Applicable fees
A Residence Certification Letter from the commune (sangkat) office is required when applying for a Police Certificate. This is obtained from the local commune office where you live/lived while in Cambodia.
