How to get a police certificate – Chad
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
For residents inside Chad
Police clearance certificates are available in person or by mail at the Ministry of Justice or the High Courts.(see Contact Information for complete address).
You will need to submit an application letter explaining why a police clearance certificate is being requested.
You can also appoint a representative (a friend or relative) to apply at the Ministry of Justice or the High Courts on your behalf.
For residents outside of Chad
Submit a request at the nearest embassy or consulate.
