How to get a police certificate – Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
If you live in the DRC
Apply in person to the Direction Générale de la Police Judiciaire (see Contact information for the complete address).
If you live outside of the DRC
Apply in person at your nearest Democratic Republic of Congo embassy.
Once the embassy has verified your documents, you must send your request by mail to the Direction Générale de la Police Judiciaire (see Contact information for the complete address).
