How to get a police certificate - Ecuador
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Certificado de Antecedentes Penales
Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:
- permanent residence
- citizenship
- some temporary residence programs

How to apply
Apply online (available in Spanish only)
In your application, write that you’re requesting a police certificate for immigration purposes.
Information and documents you need
- Full name
- Nationality
- Your National Identity Card number (Cédula de Identidad)
- If you’re not an Ecuadorian citizen, you’ll need your passport number.
- This must be the passport with which you received an Ecuadorian visa or immigration entry stamp.
