How to obtain a police certificate - Honduras

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

How to get the Certificates:

If you are a citizen of Honduras:

If you live in Honduras:

You must apply for a Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales in person or through a representative with a power of attorney at the Dirección General de Investigación Criminal (DGIC) in Comayaguela (see Special notes and considerations for complete address).

When applying for the Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales, please bring:

  • The original and a copy of your national Id document or resident carné;
  • Applicable fees, which can be paid at the bank located in the same building;
  • Original power of attorney (only if applying through a representative).

Court certificates (Constancia de Antecedentes Penales) are issued by the Poder Judicial (see Special notes and considerations for complete address). You must apply in person or through a representative with a power of attorney.

When applying for the Constancia de Antecedentes Penales, please bring:

  • Proof of payment of the applicable fees (payable at Banco Atlántida);
  • Original and a copy of your national Id document or resident carné;
  • Original power of attorney (only if applying through a representative).
