How to get a police certificate - Honduras

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Police certificate and IRCC requirements

You must provide a police certificate when you apply for:

  • permanent residence
  • citizenship
  • some temporary residence programs

How to apply

For the Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales

When you apply for the Constancia de Antecedentes Policiales, you must submit

  • the original and a copy of your national ID document or resident carné
  • the applicable fees, which can be paid at any bank
  • an original power of attorney (only if applying through a representative)

For the Constancia de Antecedentes Penales (court certificates)

  • You must apply at the Poder Judicial (available in Spanish only)
    • in person
    • online or
    • through a representative with a power of attorney

When you apply for the Constancia de Antecedentes Penales, you must bring

  • an original and a copy of your national Id document or resident carné
  • proof of payment of the applicable fees (payable at Banco Atlántida)
  • an original power of attorney (only if applying through a representative)
