How to get a police certificate - Mauritania
If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

How to get a Police Certificate:
If you are a citizen of Mauritania:
If you live in Mauritania:
You should apply in person at the tribunal of the region where you live.
If you live outside of Mauritania:
You should ask a relative who lives in Nouakchott to apply for you at the Criminal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice. When your relative applies for you, he or she must bring:
- a letter written by you authorizing your relative to apply on your behalf
- a certified copy of your birth certificate, valid passport and valid ID card

You should apply in person at the Criminal Affairs Department of the Ministry of Justice.
If you live outside of Mauritania:
Certificates are only available for people who were born in Mauritania and people who currently live in Mauritania.
