How to get a police certificate - Mauritius

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes.

How and where do I obtain one?

If you are a citizen of Mauritius, you must provide the original and a photocopy of:

  • your identity card
  • your birth certificate
  • your marriage certificate (if you are a woman)

If you are a foreign resident, you must provide the original and a photocopy of:

  • your passport
  • your proof of residency
  • any other additional document (e.g., an identity card) if available

No fee is required and no application form needs to be filled out. Only the documents mentioned above are required.
