How to get a police certificate - New Zealand

If you need to give your fingerprints for a police certificate, this isn’t the same as giving your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) for an application.

If you are a citizen of New Zealand:

If you live in New Zealand:

You must submit a criminal record check from the New Zealand Ministry of Justice. Request your own Criminal Conviction History with full record of convictions.

If you live outside of New Zealand:

You must submit a criminal record check from the New Zealand Ministry of Justice. Request your own Criminal Conviction History with full record of convictions.

If you are not a citizen of New Zealand:

When completing the ‘Request your own criminal Conviction History’ form, you must request a full record of convictions.
