About the public policy
We’ve put a temporary public policy in place to help families of Canadian victims of recent air disasters who are outside Canada.
The policy lets some of these relatives apply for a permanent resident visa. The air disasters include:
- Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302
- Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752
About the process
If you meet the eligibility criteria of the public policy, you can apply for a permanent resident visa.
Once we receive your application, we’ll check that
- it’s complete
- you meet the eligibility criteria
If we confirm you’re eligible, we’ll
- invite you and your family members to have
- medical exams
- criminal and security checks
- tell you our decision when we’ve processed your application
