Before you apply to participate, you need to get letters of support from each of these members in your community:

• a municipal leader
  • This can be from a mayor, chair, warden or reeve.
• your funding source(s) or partner(s)
• a local housing authority or municipal housing committee
  • This confirms that your community has enough housing availability and affordable housing for newcomers and/or initiatives to work towards affordable housing.
• a local settlement service provider organization
  • This confirms there are services and programs available to support newcomers in your community.

There’s no set template for the letters of support. They must endorse your community’s application to participate in the pilots.

Apply online to participate

You can apply to one or both pilot(s).

If you apply to both, we’ll place you in the pilot that best aligns with your community characteristics.
Once you have all your letters of support, you need to complete the expression of interest form online. In this form, you’ll answer questions about your community’s:

• eligibility and characteristics
• local economy
• settlement infrastructure and capacity
• capacity to deliver an economic immigration pilot
• ability to fulfill your roles and responsibilities as an active partner

You need to upload your letters of support for certain questions when asked. They can be .docx or .pdf files.
