A temporary resident permit is only granted in exceptional circumstances to a person who is inadmissible but has a reason to travel to Canada.
A temporary resident permit is not the same as
- a visitor visa (temporary resident visa)

- a transit visa

- a Convention refugee, or
- a person in need of protection
- we have approved your application for a pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA)
