Today, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, announced a federal investment of $6 million over 15 years to support a novel national research partnership that will drive solutions to boost Canada’s productivity over the coming years.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal today found that the dumping and subsidizing of certain cast iron soil pipe, originating in or exported from China, have caused injury to the domestic industry. Anti-dumping and countervailing duties will therefore be collected by the Canada Border Services Agency. The complainant in this case was Canada Pipe Company ULC, d.b.a. Bibby-Ste-Croix of Sainte-Croix, Québec.
