As ordered by the Supreme Court of Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) continues to have custody of the birds at the British Columbia ostrich farm. There is ongoing veterinary oversight.

Today First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Residential School Survivors gathered on Parliament Hill, unceded territory of the Anishinabeg Algonquin, to re-raise the Survivors' Flag in honour of Residential School Survivors and in memory of the children who never returned home.
In 2003, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the existence of previously undeclared nuclear facilities in Iran, in violation of its Safeguards Agreement under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). Despite international calls, Iran refused to suspend proliferation-sensitive activities. In February 2006, the IAEA Board of Governors reported Iran’s nuclear program to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). In response, the UNSC imposed a series of sanctions between December 2006 and June 2010 to curb Iran’s expanding nuclear capacity.

Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski’s National Film Board of Canada (NFB) stop-motion animated short The Girl Who Cried Pearls has received the CFI Award for Best Canadian Animation at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF). The award was announced on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
