The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will participate in an armchair discussion hosted by the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Democracy Forum entitled “Ukraine, War and Peace”. She will be joined by her Baltic counterparts Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Eva-Maria Liimets, Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, Latvia’s Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the event, they will discuss democracy under threat from authoritarianism, President Putin’s ongoing military aggression in Ukraine and the Canada-Baltic relationship. The discussion will be followed by a joint media availability.
The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, will be attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, and then extending her visit to Singapore to promote further trade opportunities in the region.
