The screenings are intended for audiences of all ages and will be hosted by presenters or filmmaker Serge Giguère, who will share little-known details about the works. The NFB is also participating in the event's digital component with a workshop at the Phi Centre in Montreal especially created for the occasion. Presented by NFB producer Louis-Richard Tremblay, the workshop will attempt to demystify the process of creating interactive productions.

Ève Lamont's documentary Le commerce du sexe (The Sex Trade) will play in cities across Quebec starting September 14, with screenings continuing throughout the fall. In total, the film will be shown in French in at least nine of the province's regions and 15 of its cities-Terrebonne, La Malbaie, Baie-Saint-Paul, Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Ville-Marie, Montreal, Cowansville, Granby, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivières, Sainte-Anne-Monts, Rimouski, Odanak and Gatineau-as well as in Ottawa, Ontario. Each screening will be followed by a talk, many of which will feature the filmmaker. Several screenings will also feature workers from local aid centres known as CALACS (Centres d'aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel), as part of an effort to raise awareness about women victims of violence. Audiences across the province will have a chance to see the uncut version of Le commerce du sexe on the big screen and get a better understanding of the realities of the local and regional sex trade, in addition to learning more about Lamont's approach to making the film.
Documentary film has long occupied a special place in Quebec's cinematic landscape. As the "cinema of the real," it is the means of expression chosen by numerous major filmmakers whose works, frequently innovative in form and content, shine light on current issues and events. L'institut national de l'image et du son (INIS) is therefore pleased to announce the return of its program Documentaire and thus contribute to the development of tomorrow's documentarists. The five-month training program will commence in fall 2016.
