Minister Seamus O’Regan joined residents, youth and Veterans to mark the 75th anniversary of the Bell Island U-boat attacks in Newfoundland and Labrador
Today, the Honourable Seamus O’Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence issued the following statement for the 2017 Canada Army Run.
Bell Island, Newfoundland and Labrador– The Honourable Seamus O’Regan, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will join community members, Veterans and their family members, youth and other special guests at Lance Cove Beach on Bell Island to mark the 75th anniversary of the Bell Island U-boat attacks.
Sherry Romanado, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will meet with Canadian Armed Forces Members and their families to provide details on changes to VAC programs and benefits that will do more to support Canada’s Veterans and their families.

An official Government of Canada delegation attended the closing ceremony in Ottawa after returning from their journey in France commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid.
The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, will join the Government of Canada delegation as they return to Canada from Dieppe, France, for a closing commemorative ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid.
