Government of Canada invests $650,000 to support a major renewal of Science North

Viviane Lapointe, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, today announced that FedNor is investing $650,000 to support Woven by Water, a project that will renew more than 20 percent of the third floor at Science North in Sudbury. On October 9, 2025, the Canadian Coast Guard exercised its authority under the Wrecked, Abandoned or Hazardous Vessels Act to issue an Administrative Monetary Penalty to the owner of a vessel located in Seal Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador. The owner of the vessel, Colette, a 32-foot power boat, failed to comply with a direction issued under the Act following the determination that the vessel poses a hazard to the marine environment and public safety.
