The Government of Canada is helping the Town of Thessalon to reduce the operating costs of its community arena by adding styrofoam insulation and metal siding to two of the arena's walls. Thanks to a $14,307 contribution from FedNor, the town anticipates the upgrades will reduce energy consumption and building maintenance, as well as prolong the life of the arena's heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment.

The Government of Canada is investing $637,710 to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Sudbury region, as well as the growth of farm and food cooperatives across Northern Ontario. Of the total, $487,110 will be used by the City of Greater Sudbury to help guide potential entrepreneurs in planning and starting their businesses, advise existing businesses on how to enhance their competitiveness, and provide high growth firms with marketing information to support exporting activities. The remaining $150,600 will enable the Ontario Natural Food Co-operative to provide business skills training, such as marketing, merchandising and distribution models, and to facilitate the expansion of co-ops.

The Government of Canada is helping the Township of Chapple to repair and touch up its playgrounds, outdoor rinks, baseball fields and picnic areas. An investment of $10,000 will assist with a variety of upgrades such as adding protective surfacing under playground equipment, adding mesh at the baseball diamond, and increasing the height of backboards at outdoor rinks.
