An estimated 12,800 families with children in Vancouver are eligible to receive money under the Harper Government's proposed enhanced Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB), but are at risk of not receiving the benefit unless they apply. The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, along with the Honourable Alice Wong, Minister of State (Seniors), today asked for help from the media and the public to encourage families to apply for the benefit.
Robert Goguen, Member of Parliament for Moncton–Riverview–Dieppe and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice, on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, was joined today by Monique LeBlanc, Member of the Legislature for Moncton East, and George LeBlanc, Mayor of the City of Moncton, to announce funding of up to $2.7 million for the City of Moncton's Transit Fleet Replacement project under the New Building Canada Plan.

On May 22, 2015, Senator Fabian Manning, on behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, will announce funding by the Government of Canada for small craft harbours projects on the Burin Peninsula and southwestern Newfoundland.
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers not only keep dangerous goods out of Canada, but also protect communities by screening travellers for criminal history. Southern Manitoba border service officers refuse entry to travellers every month for various reasons, including some with significant criminal records.
Representatives from three levels of government were in the Town of Arborg today to announce funding for new multi-use pathways for the Town of Arborg and the Village of Dunnottar. Residents in both communities will soon be able to walk, run, or cycle on routes reserved specifically for non-motorized traffic.
