The Government of Canada is providing additional support to the Aboriginal Trades and Apprenticeship project, which helps expand Aboriginal work in trades and apprenticeship programs. The Public Health Agency of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) is a Level Four laboratory, with over 400 employees. The NML was established in 1999.The NML is internationally recognized as one of a handful of laboratories in the world with the capacity to work with highly pathogenic viruses.
