British Columbia's international exports are expected to grow by 8 per cent in 2009 after strong growth of 24 per cent in 2008, according to a provincial export outlook by Export Development Canada (EDC). B.C. will fare better than most provinces in 2009, but in light of the weaker Canadian dollar the pace of growth is still relatively modest.

The Government of Canada was extremely happy to be a partner in Entrepreneurship Week Canada. For the first time, Canada celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week. This event brought together like-minded youth across the globe to celebrate and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship. The week began on November 17, with activities running through to November 23 in cities all across the country.

Niagara Falls, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, on the recommendation of the Privacy Commissioner, today announced the appointment of Chantal Bernier as Assistant Privacy Commissioner. The appointment, effective December 8, 2008, is for a term of five years.
