Five prominent researchers from the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia, McGill University and the University of Ottawa will be honoured with the 2007 Killam Prizes, Canada's most distinguished annual awards for outstanding career achievements in engineering, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences and health sciences.

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, today tabled a Notice of Ways and Means Motion in the House of Commons to implement certain tax relief measures proposed last week in Budget 2007 and in the months before the budget.
The Canadian Air Force will play host to U.S. and Russian forces for Arctic SAREX, an annual search and rescue exercise. The exercise will take place in the vicinity of 19 Wing Comox and Campbell River, BC, from April 1-5.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will receive a bouquet of daffodils from two young cancer patients to mark the beginning of the Canadian Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Month, and the 50th year it has sold daffodils in aid of cancer research. The bouquet presentation will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, in the greenhouses of Rideau Hall.
