On behalf of the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, the Honourable John Duncan, Minister of State, Chief Government Whip, and Member of Parliament for Vancouver Island North, announced today an investment of approximately $1.5 million to support Canadian Coast Guards assets that contribute to maritime safety: the Search and Rescue Station in Campbell River and eight lighthouses on Vancouver Island and B.C. Central Coast.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (the Tribunal) today initiated an inquiry to determine whether the dumping and subsidizing of photovoltaic modules and laminates originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China have caused injury or retardation or are threatening to cause injury. This final injury inquiry was initiated further to a notice received from the Canada Border Services Agency stating that preliminary determinations had been made respecting the dumping and subsidizing of the above-mentioned goods.

Dartmouth Nova Scotia ¿ On Monday, the Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, will attend the first meeting of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Atlantic Salmon. In addition, she will announce investments by the Government of Canada in projects in Nova Scotia that support Atlantic salmon. Photo opportunities will be available for media in attendance. OTTAWA – Today, 33 Canadian Forces Military Police departed CFB Trenton for the Sinai Peninsula as part of military activities undertaken by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) to support the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Egypt.

On March 5, 2015, at about 7:40 a.m, an inmate was found to have been victim of an assault at Kent Institution, a maximum security federal institution. The injured inmate was immediately evaluated by staff members and transported to an outside hospital to receive treatment.
