After you apply

After submitting an expression of interest

Within 30 days of submission, EOIs with the strongest merit and alignment with program objectives, priority areas, and significant economic benefits will be invited to complete a full application and undergo detailed assessment. If your project moves forward, use the BSP Applicant Guide for the full application.

If you have not been contacted, your project will not be considered further. However, should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any of our offices by email, telephone, fax or mail.

Funding decisions are usually made within 90 business days of receiving a complete application (including satisfactory supporting documentation). Refer to PrairiesCan’s service standards.

How we assess your application

The BSP is a competitive process and not all applications undergoing a detailed assessment will receive an offer of funding. Only applications demonstrating the highest merit and fit with BSP objectives will be considered for funding. Many good projects will not receive support under BSP.

We may contact you for details on your application or additional information, where deemed necessary for assessment. Although PrairiesCan may engage organizations directly on outstanding questions or issues, applicants are advised to submit a complete and thorough application.

Applications will be evaluated on their ability to achieve BSP objectives and on their relative strengths in the following areas:

To fully assess your project, PrairiesCan may request (as applicable):

A technical assessment may be conducted by National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) for projects using novel technology.
