Office of the Auditor General of Canada
Letter on Implementation of the Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity and Inclusion

Summer 2021 update

Dear Ms. Charette:

This letter is in response to the January 2021 Call to Action on Anti-Racism, Equity, and Inclusion in the Federal Public Service, which was released by Ian Shugart in his capacity of Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet.

The Office of the Auditor General of Canada has been working diligently, before and since, to advance anti-racism, equity, and inclusion.

Diversity and inclusion matter to me personally and to my office as a whole. The Office of the Auditor General of Canada is committed to building an inclusive culture to bring together a community of diverse employees who will nurture our continued growth and renewal, both as individuals and as an office.

As an agent of Parliament who reports directly to Parliament, I wish to inform you that I will provide my office’s response to the call to action to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Accounts as soon as the committee is struck after this fall’s general election.

Our response will include a summary of actions taken, means to measure progress, and results as well as challenges, barriers, and proposed solutions.

Sincerely,

Karen Hogan, CPA, CA
Auditor General of Canada
