The Autism Spectrum Disorder Strategic Fund
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that can include impairments in language, communication skills, and social interactions combined with restrictive and repetitive behaviours, interests or activities. It is a complex life-long condition that affects not only the person with autism, but their families, caregivers and communities.
About the Fund
Budget 2018 announced $9.1 million over five years for an Autism Spectrum Disorder Strategic Fund to better support the needs of Canadians living with autism spectrum disorder, their families, caregivers and communities.
The fund is designed to support innovative community-based projects that will provide tangible opportunities for Canadians living with autism, their families and caregivers to gain knowledge, resources and skills that can help them address the challenges of living with autism. It is hoped that in the long term, these investments will lead to the best possible health outcomes for those with autism.
