How is dengue fever diagnosed? What is the treatment?
Diagnosing dengue fever
Dengue fever is diagnosed based on travel history, symptoms and laboratory testing.
Treating dengue fever
Although advanced research is underway, there is currently no approved vaccine or medication that protects against dengue fever. But medical care can help infected patients recover and control their symptoms.
Call your health care provider as soon as possible if you think you may have dengue fever. The sooner you get treatment, the better your chances are for recovery. Make sure to tell the health care provider where you have been travelling or living.
