Biography - Daniel Tucker, Commissioner

Daniel Tucker was appointed Commissioner of the Public Service Commission in January 2013.

Previously he spent many years in line management where he was responsible for program delivery in many parts of the country, including as Regional Collector, Customs Operations, Atlantic Region and as Assistant Deputy Minister Regional Operations, Customs, Excise & Taxation, Atlantic Region.

From 1997 to 2001 he served as Chief Financial Officer & Assistant Commissioner, Finance & Administration, Canada Customs & Revenue Agency and from 2001 to 2005 as Assistant Commissioner Human Resources, Canada Customs & Revenue Agency and then Canada Revenue Agency.

From 2005 to 2007 he was Federal Public Servant-in-Residence School of Public Administration, Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University where he was subsequently Senior Adviser from 2007 to 2016.

From 2008 to 2017 he was President of Dan Tucker and Associates Inc., a firm specializing in Professional Coaching, Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, Leadership and Change Management. In this capacity he worked both within Canada and internationally.

Daniel Tucker holds a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Carleton University and is a Professional Certified Coach.
