This document was modified in June 2013 to reflect the Public Service Commission's (PSC) revised resourcing model in which the consideration of priority persons is shown as an independent step, prior to choosing the appointment process. This recognizes the context in which the primary pool of candidates may be persons with priority entitlements. The document identifies the potential contributions or activities of the different players at the various steps, or decision points, in an appointment process. It reflects the activities for an appointment process internal to the public service, as all the stages are then included; in an external appointment process, the informal discussion and notifications stages do not apply.
