Project description

Detailed inspections concluded that the bridge structure is in poor condition (Studies and reports: Replacing the Alexandra Bridge).

The boardwalk and articulation repair project will mainly address the safety of the bridge. The work will stabilize its structure so it continues to be safely used until its replacement.

Once the project is completed, the boardwalk will also provide a safer route for pedestrians and cyclists. This project is expected to be completed in summer 2025.

Key milestones

Impact on traffic

The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists during the construction period. We are working with our partners to ensure that plans are in place to minimize disruptions to commuting traffic during the project.
